I served as identity and content designer for “Irrepressible Soul”, celebrating the complex and intersectional black experience and identity. I created print materials to advertise the show and its secondary programming, as well as the final exhibition booklet. I also assisted the curators and gallery staff is constructing experimental rooms as part of the grander show.

The exhibition held three immersive rooms: The Entryway (lined with ironic, joking doormats) The Barbershop (where real hairdressers would style hair during programming), and Grandma's Living Room (complete with a cheetah print chaise longe and incense). The remaining gallery space was full of artwork from over 15 artists, and the exhibition was paired alongside 13 distinct programmed events including Black Health & Wellness Event at Columbus Commons, The Ball, and Artist Commune: Zeitgeist (an immersive cornerstore experience within the gallery).

Irrepressible Soul hosted various events and programs.

“The Ball”

A curated social experience that incorporates art, music, and fashion. The event includes interactive installations, live art, art giveaways, and food and drinks in an elevated gallery setting, with a formal dress code. It is a celebration of the art of fashion and expression in Black culture.

“Artist Commune Zietgiest”

A collaboration with Aisle 6 Collective during Urban Arts Space monthly Artist Commune programming series to express zeitgeist through a revolutionary art activation reflective of the complex Black experience. Immerse yourself in a night of community, Black nostalgia, collective art making, and experimental art installations.
